1. The race is won in the off season 2. Train frequently, all year round 3. Start gradually and gently 4. First train for distance, then for speed (build a big base) 5. Go hard on the hard days, easy on the easy days 6. Do not overtrain 7. Avoid monotony 8. Train with others 9. Keep a logbook 10.
