In 1981 Dr. Silberman ran his first running race and has been hooked to endurance sports ever since. A heel injury ultimately stopped his running career but not before he took up cycling to stay in shape. He raced bicycles for almost 20 years, in Europe and on the U.S. Professional Circuit.  He is a three time New Jersey State Champion in Cycling.  In 2007, he began running again and has been competing in regional running races and triathlons.  Dr. Silberman achieved USTA All American honors in his first year of racing and in his second, qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. In 2021, he won the Long Course United States National Championship Aqua Bike in his age group.  He currently sponsors and races for TMB Racing.  Along the way he has experienced more lessons in life, injury, defeat and victory than any book could have ever taught him.  "I have been in your shoes, on the road and in the doctor’s office, just like you".

About the Practice

Marc Silberman, M.D., hung a shingle for New Jersey Sports Medicine in 2005, just like his grandfather and father did when they started.  Seeing just one patient in his first month, Dr. Silberman built the practice one patient at a time.  With the invaluable help of Kaitlin Anders, ATC, the practice now has over 10,000 patients traveling from all over the world.

"We should have come here first" is the most common quote we hear from those who went elsewhere first.

Dr. Silberman and New Jersey Sports Medicine specializes in musculoskeletal medicine, the health care of athletes and active individuals, with a whole body approach to both orthopedic injuries as well as medical issues specific to athletes.

New Jersey Sports Medicine has x-ray and diagnostic ultrasound on site such that there is often no need to wait for an expensive MRI for diagnosis.  If you do go for an MRI, all films will be read by Dr. Silberman with you, unlike other offices where a physician assistant may call you back with the report only.

Dr. Silberman's ultrasound guided injections are less painful and more precise than blind injections performed elsewhere.

Dr. Silberman and New Jersey Sports Medicine specialize in regenerative procedures such as platelet rich plasma (PRP) and Stem Cell injections, having performed them longer than any other physician in New Jersey.

Dr. Silberman specializes in exertional leg pain, compartment syndrome testing and botox treatment, one of a few in the entire country who perform botox injections for exertional compartment syndrome.

You do not have to be an athlete to be seen at New Jersey Sports Medicine.  Sports Medicine physicians are the best trained physicians for the care of musculoskeletal pain and injury, bone, joint, tendon, cartilage, ligament, and other non-surgical orthopedic injuries.

We see all ages here, including pediatric, adolescent, young adult, adult, and geriatric orthopedic care.

You can save money at New Jersey Sports Medicine, especially if you have a high deductible.  New Jersey Sports Medicine is not owned or leased by a hospital or any other health care entity.  As a result, you can expect lower fees and less out of pocket expenses at New Jersey Sports Medicine.  There are no hidden or unexpected hospital or surgical center facility fees you receive at other practices.  The practice is solely outpatient based.

Dr. Silberman is a participating provider with most insurance plans such as  Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United, Oxford, Qualcare, Medicare, and more so check with your insurance plan.
